My birth name is Nyah Watson. Depending on the day, some may refer to me as Myah, the reason being that I am a true representation of a Gemini. Now, there’s a lot of words associated with Gemini, especially on the internet, some that I believe are extremely misleading and others I can’t help but agree with. For example, according to ZodiacFire, the Gemini is a supportive and encouraging friend, the Gemini can be a “weirdo” at times, but the Gemini is versatile and can be viewed as extremely guarded or reluctant to ‘open up.’In this post , I will be touching on the versatility and guarded aspects of me… the Gemini.
My wigs, they give me superpowers. Depending on my mood, my outfit, or the occasion, I know that I have a wig to match. The play on colors and styles represent the versatility of me and how I’m able to adapt when needed in any given situation. I have a blonde, twenty-inch, body wave piece for whenever I’m feeling extremely girly and in need of a bit of bounce in my life. I have a cotton candy pink, sleek, side-parted bob for whenever I’m yearning a quick pick me up and a small reminder that I am a superwoman. And last but not least, I have a cherry red fringe bang for whenever I’m rocking my all black and need to gift the people mysterious cherry blossom vibes. The list could reach as long as my arms and the colors could vary from silver to green. Still, no matter how many other characters I can turn into, it’ll never change what I truly am…a hoodie.
Some people have their baby blankets, an old teddy bear, maybe even a pacifier. But for me, it’s my purple hoodie. It is warm and offers reliance with its deep side pockets perfectly stitched along the sides. It creates barriers when the zipper is clasped shut when a sense of energy is shifted. And my all-time favorite is the sense of security the hoodie itself provides to my cold head. The longer I wear the hoodie, the more I become the hoodie. The guarded zipper, the fuzzy coating few know is inside, and the secure protection the hoodie provides, are all me. And everyone needs a hoodie in their life.
Despite the negative connotations associated with the word Gemini, I am proud to be one. I am more than just some astrology sign, but this sign is a huge part of what makes me who I am. I am a good friend. I am weird. I am guarded. I am warm. I am versatile. And I am too much to handle at times. But I’m a Gemini, and I wouldn’t have it be any other way.
